Lest We Forget – Relive The Past

Hi there! My name is Joey van Meesen, also known as Joedemadio. I’m a 25 years old Military Historian and film maker. I have a big passion for World War 2 and battlefield exploring which I love to share with other people. I tour across the western front’s battlefields to discover history and relive the past!

I’m a big fan of the 5th infantry division and the Battle of the Bulge in Luxembourg so most of my research is dedicated to them and that part of the war. Why the 5th infantry division? Click here to find out!

On my Youtube Channel you will find interesting videos varying from Battlefield Tours to Article Discussions and a lot of other stuff that is World War 2 related. Join the team at and subscribe to my channel for free!

I’m also available as a battlefield guide! If you’re going to Belgium, Luxembourg or The Netherlands I would love to show you around the battlefields and tell you interesting stories. Contact me at for more information or click here for more information.

My goal is to inspire as many people as possible to do the same so that we never forget what happened during World War 2.

Enjoyed your website and admire your enthusiasm. I’m an avid student of the Ardennes Campaign but unfortunately will probably never walk the ground. I envy you.

Maybe you know this by now. The white circle on the helmet your father found was commonly painted on the helmets of soldiers in the field artillery. Since they were in smaller units, they used symbols to quickly identify who they were. Here is a website that will give you the info. Hope this helps.

You’re really awesome! Your research of World War Two inspired me to start writing a fictional novel based during the second great war. I hope you make more videos on YouTube and do more research about the rich history of World War Two. Keep up the good work!
