WILLIAM D. SHEEHAN KILLED IN ACTION
Word was received here this week that Pfc. William D. Sheehan of Osage, was reported killed in action in Luxembourg on December 26th. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Sheehan of Osage. The parents received the telegram from the War Department on Sunday, January 14th.
Young Sheehan was well known in this part of the country and had attended school at Osage and high school at Newcastle. He entered the service some time last spring and had been across only a short time.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Sheehan of Osage and two sisters, June of California and Helene of Newcastle.
Check out this other blog post of mine where I visit Hill 313 and the area where Sheehan was killed on December 26th 1944:
